Nighty Night

My friend Pr. Todd Peperkorn posted his recent habit of praying together with his wife before bed.

I admit my wife and I have a non-existent devotional life.  We never got into the habit of praying and reading Scripture together as newlyweds. Then came one child. And a second. Now a third soon.  She goes to bed early. I go to bed later than her. Time slips away.

We started the other night. I read a psalm and prayed for our family. Then we went to bed together. Last night we held hands in bed for what seemed an eternity. It was silent prayer on my behalf. I think my wife was half-asleep!

It’s a start. I hope it can become more later.
